Comics and what-not

Hello again. As you can hopefully tell I’ve been working on Apricots, yay! I have two pages to ink and colour for the end of this part and I’ve thumbnailed up to the next plot point. The end of the chapter may look quite a bit different from the start as there’s genuinely a year between me inking them. Love the sporadic webcomic vibes.

In December I went on a slightly random holiday to Brussels- I was planning to going to France again but we ended up in Brussels because stuff was cancelled! Anyway the reason we picked Brussels was for three reasons:

  1. Christmas market - in Bruges

  2. MiniEurope - the campest, silliest visitor attraction possibly ever

  3. Comic Museum!!!!!!!

Fun fact for you: as well as drawing comics I love learning about comics. I wrote my university dissertation on comics, even though my field of study wasn’t very comic-adjacent. I love seeing sketches, scripts, unfinished inks- anything comics I can get my hands on. So yes if you’re ever in Brussels go to the comic museum! I somehow managed to see the tailend of the Comics in Europe 2023 exhibition and it was super great to see some names I recognised there.

In other comics news I finished my little silly zine ready for the next comic/zine/art fair I get a table at. Haven’t been massively successful in getting tables for anything this year so far but we keep trying! If I don’t get into any I’ll try opening up my website again before the year ends. I’ve been trying to move out this year so I’ve avoided opening it but honestly the moving is going about as successfully as the getting tables at events…

Keep reading Apricots and I will be back soon!
